In brief

GPS-RESOURCE is the trading name of GPS-RESOURCE LLC (ТОВ «ДЖИ.ПІ.ЕС РЕСУРС»), a Ukrainian company based in Kyiv and registered on 26 January 2017 (company number 41102907). We install and maintain GPS monitoring systems for vehicles, heavy machinery and stationary equipment on the Wialon platform: we select and fit trackers and sensors, set up fuel and engine-hour accounting, routes and reports, and support the system after it goes live. The office is in Kyiv; installation and service trips cover the whole of Ukraine.

Most of the clients we fitted equipment for back in 2017 are still with us today.

The platform: Local or Hosting

We have worked with Wialon Local since 2017, covering the full range of physical and software work for the client: fitting the equipment, keeping every component of the system up to date including device firmware, creating units, configuring sensors, reports and notifications. We also help with the more specialised modules: the agricultural sector, setting up and maintaining geofences, integration with third-party systems and so on.

Since 2025 the client chooses between Wialon Local and Wialon Hosting. The difference in functionality is small — whatever you install monitoring for is present in both. The difference in price is real: Hosting costs more, because it is paid to a European company. So we push neither option; we show both figures and leave the decision to the client.

Equipment and tasks

We work with equipment we use every day: Teltonika and Bitrek trackers, fuel level sensors, CAN adapters and connection through the OBD diagnostic port, temperature and humidity sensors. The set is decided not by the type of machine but by what has to be measured:

  • fuel accounting — refuellings, siphoning and actual consumption from a level sensor instead of paper norms;
  • engine hours — for machinery whose service life is counted in hours rather than kilometres: heavy equipment, generators;
  • routes and mileage, plus automatic GPS track cleaning every night, so that spoofing and jamming do not distort the reports;
  • refrigerated trailers — temperature, humidity and the work of the refrigeration unit;
  • farm machinery — the Hecterra module with hectare accounting;
  • OBD and CAN — the vehicle's own data: odometer mileage, fuel level, engine revs and temperature, fault codes.

Refrigerated transport

We currently monitor more than 50 refrigerated units across different clients. Engine hours come from the tracker, litres from the fuel level sensor, temperature and humidity from the temperature sensor.

Beyond the real fuel consumption, the value here is in three more things: the temperature and humidity data itself; the ability to hand the cargo owner a printout of that data (a dedicated reefer printer costs around 700 dollars); and temperature control during the trip rather than after unloading.

Before the system is fitted, a driver could ignore the temperature regime, siphon fuel and deliver spoiled cargo — and a haulier's reputation with the customer drops to zero instantly. With a tracker and the additional equipment, doing that unnoticed is impossible. The kit pays for itself in a single trip. A full breakdown with real reports is in the reefer case study.

How the work runs

It starts with the task, not with a price list: what machinery, how many units and what exactly you need to see — litres, engine hours, temperature, hectares, or simply the route. That decides both the set of equipment and the platform. Then comes the cost of equipment, work and monthly service, and agreeing a time for the visit.

We do the installation ourselves and where the machinery stands: the trip, the fitting, calibration of the fuel level sensor, creating and configuring units in Wialon — all in one cycle of work. Timing depends on the type of installation: about a minute for a tracker in the diagnostic port, and up to four hours if a fuel level sensor is cut into the tank and calibrated by actual volumes. We travel across the whole of Ukraine; the region affects the cost of the work, but not who performs it.

After launch the system stays under our support: setting up reports and geofences, calibrating sensors, investigating disputed data, answering questions about the platform. The monthly fee covers the software, the SIM cards in the trackers, and technical and advisory support. Nightly track cleaning is not charged separately: we added it free of charge for the duration of the war, so that jamming and spoofing do not render the data useless.
