What GPS monitoring is made of: hardware, installation and a monthly subscription

What the total is made of

GPS monitoring is three cost items, not one. Two are paid once, the third every month. The third is where the misunderstanding usually happens: someone works out the price of a tracker, has it fitted — and a month later receives an invoice for the platform they had not counted on.

Cost itemWhen it is paidHow much
HardwareOnce, at installationDepends on the model — tables below
InstallationOnce, at installationDepends on the region, quoted separately
SubscriptionMonthly, per unitFrom 200 UAH

Hardware and installation are paid once. The subscription is access to the system: while it is paid, the machinery is on the map, data is recorded and reports are built.

The cheapest tracker in the price list is 1900 UAH. A solution with a fuel level sensor comes to a few thousand, and full control of complex machinery with sensors and extra options can reach several tens of thousands of hryvnias.

All prices on this page are in Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH).

Once: hardware

Prices per unit, in hryvnias. The set is decided not by the type of machine but by what has to be measured: route and mileage, the vehicle's own data over OBD or CAN, actual litres from a fuel level sensor, engine hours, temperature.

One unit is not always one device: fuel control adds a level sensor, working with the vehicle's own data adds a CAN adapter. That is where the spread in the one-off figure comes from.

Typical kits

A few of the most frequently ordered sets, to show the order of the one-off figure. Kits are assembled for the task; these are not tariff packages.

A fuel level sensor connects over a serial interface, so it is paired with the FMB125 rather than the FMB920. For a refrigerated trailer the tracker is its own, mounted on the trailer in a protective enclosure — the enclosure is counted separately.

To each row add the cost of installation for your region and the subscription per unit. A trailer with its own tracker is a separate unit, so a tractor and a reefer mean two subscriptions.

Once: installation

There is no installation price in the list, and we do not invent one: the cost of the work depends on the region and is quoted separately. Specific installations that require a visit by narrowly specialised engineers are agreed individually. We travel across the whole of Ukraine.

The cost of the work depends not only on the region but also on the engineer who makes the trip: rates differ between specialists. Some customers fit the equipment themselves or arrange it with their own auto electrician — in that case we provide the wiring diagram.

As a guide to the amount of work, here is how long installation takes:

Type of installationApproximate time
Tracker into the OBD diagnostic portAbout a minute
Wired trackerAbout 30 minutes
Installation with a fuel level sensorUp to 4 hours
With additional optionsLonger

Four hours comes from the fuel level sensor being cut into the tank and calibrated by actual volumes — without calibration, figures in litres mean nothing.

Monthly: the subscription

The subscription is charged every month for each connected unit, not once at activation. The minimum is from 200 UAH. What that figure already covers:

  • the Wialon licence — the software itself;
  • the SIM card tariff in the tracker — connectivity does not have to be bought separately;
  • technical and advisory support.

Nor is nightly track cleaning against spoofing charged separately: we added it free of charge for the duration of the war, so that jamming and signal spoofing do not render reports useless. Rebuilding a route inside a jamming zone remains a paid option on top of the subscription.

The amount depends on the platform: since 2025 the client chooses between Wialon Local and Hosting, so we show both figures.

PlanWithin Ukraine, UAH/monthWith roaming, UAH/month
Wialon Local220350
Wialon Local, from 10 connected trackers200325
Wialon HostingFrom 260365

The Wialon Hosting rate is linked to the euro exchange rate and may change. Hosting costs more because it is paid to a European company.

Integration with SENT or RMPD is paid separately, on top of the subscription — 325 UAH per month.

Warranty

GPS trackers — 2 years from the day of installation; fuel level sensors — from 18 months. For trackers the count starts at installation, not at the date of purchase.

How your figure is worked out

The calculation starts with the task: what machinery, how many units, and what exactly you need to see — litres, engine hours, temperature, or simply the route. That decides the set of hardware, and the hardware decides the one-off figure. Then comes the cost of the work for your region and the subscription by number of units.

The technical details are covered in the FAQ, and who does the work is on the About page.

Describe the task — we will work out three figures separately: hardware, installation for your region, and the monthly subscription.
